Doaa Ouf is an NYC-based projection designer, director, and producer from Cairo, Egypt, working across theater, live performance, and film. Drawing from a multidisciplinary practice, she brings media, sound, space, and the live body together to create visually dynamic, narratively immersive experiences. Doaa approaches each project as an opportunity to discover the visual language that best serves the piece. Her work has been seen on and Off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally.

At the center of Doaa’s work is a fascination with memory, absence, and the ephemeral nature of projection design. She approaches technology not as spectacle, but as a means of creating deeply human experiences, using media as an active storytelling partner and exploring the tension between design and the live body. For her, design begins with asking what a piece needs—and knowing that, sometimes, the most powerful choice is absence.

Doaa holds an M.F.A. in Projection Design from Yale University and B.A. degrees in Theatre and Animation from Rutgers University.
